The BepiColombo spacecraft is about to make its first Mercury flyby

The European and Japanese mission BepiColombo will make a flyby of the photo voltaic system’s inner-most world subsequent month, diving to simply 200 kilometres above the floor of sun-scorched Mercury.

The spacecraft, which is specifically engineered to face up to the excessive temperatures close to our star, will gather knowledge and pictures in the course of the move, making its closest method to Mercury – often known as peri-herm – on 1 October.
